With the excessive promotion thrown behind the likes of Meek Mill and Wale, it is hard to remember that crooner Masspike Miles remains one of the original members of Ricky Rozay’s famed MMG label. Few pay him a great deal of attention, but most will recognize his syrupy vocals on Rick Ross cuts like ‘Cigar Music’. While he has yet to release an official studio album, he did release a solid release in The Road Less Traveled EP last year and now returns with another joint release (free and iTunes) titled Say Hello To Forever.

Say establishes that Miles shares a fantastic ear for beats, similar to his bawse man (pun intended). The opening title track features heavy jazzy overtones to effectively set the mood of the complete project. ‘Love Come Down’ and ‘Candy Store’ are sex-laden bedroom boomers that have become almost second nature to the musician, especially the latter which is essentially about 0r@l s3x. He even enlists a nice guest turn from the Wu’s Raekwon on ‘Priceless’, despite Smoke Bulga and Lo-K3y being a waste of space on the otherwise great ‘Hard Rain’.

Most of the guest appearances are subpar and burden the project as a whole (even Jake’s favorite new emcee Fred The Godson fails to spit anything memorable). While he has an ear for beats, his decision making on most of these cameos make for the stink face in addition to a ‘skip’. He does, however, manage to put together a solid enough project to maintain a hold of his audience and raise optimism that an official studio album is just beyond the horizon.
