By The Way: “Things I Learned From Stupid Hoe(s)” | 1.21.2012

(The following post is of no reflection to the good people at AllHipHop.com, RapGenius.com, GoWhereHipHop.com, or any other site I’m affiliated with. Hi, guys.)
I say this a lot, but it bears repeating; there will always be a lane for ignorance. Case in point, check out Nicki Minaj’s latest video, “Stupid Hoe.” Go ahead, I’ll wait. Click play if you dare.
Yes, that’s Nicki Minaj. The single is as retarded as it sounds, but the “fun” song that was rumored to not even be a real Nicki single suddenly has a random Busta Rhymes-in-the-90s styled video (it’s directed by Hype Williams, so there’s your reason for that) and is now being pushed as the first release from her new LP in April.
Wait. What?
To top that off… well, there’s nothing else to top that off. The song seems more like a test of Nicki’s power over the female demographic under 22 (and homosexuals… no diss on that one, just stating) than an actual song. So if we look at the song as such, we learn a couple of things that are frightening.
Firstly, Nicki’s fans are just as gullible as the people with the mindstate concerning the Illuminati, in the sense that they’ll believe/listen/like anything that people release. Some people call it loyalty, but this goes beyond that. It’s to the point where I feel if Nicki told them to jump off a bridge while twerking, they’d upload it to Youtube for her. Powerful, but there’s other artists who actually deserve that following, and Nicki’s not one of them. No diss. My opinion.
The following kind of reminds me of Lasers at times, to be honest.
Secondly, YMCMB can put out ANYTHING they want and it’ll sell. Of course, the true test of that would be to release a Jae Millz album, but that’s getting too far ahead of ourselves. Besides, I couldn’t convince most of the people that I know in real life to listen to a single of his, so I know an album is just ludicrous.
Thirdly, Hip-Hop wise, I think Nicki is GONE. I mean, I really think we LOST her. The money in mainstream is looking way too good if she’s actually doing joints like this. There was a time when I thought she would never do a song like this, but if she did it’ll never actually leak… but if it leaked it’ll never be pushed as a single… and if that happened, it’ll be a “street” single, not a video. And of ALL people, Hype friggin’ Williams wouldn’t lower his standards to shoot it.
Man, I miscalled that one, huh?
Fourth, Nicki’s got ONE more time to hold a note for longer than five seconds and I’m NEVER listening to her again. Don’t insult my intelligence, please… It’s more dope female rappers right now, she can be replaced with the quickness.
Five, Jean Grae’s “Cake or Death” coming this year.

“she can be replaced with the quickness.” , lol , it’s true we lost her, we lost alot of good artists over the years, they let hip hop die in themselves.
