Prolyfics rant is fucking stupid what he’s saying is basically.
Lupe be like Young Money!! Make music for the masses get some hits and get your money like Drake and Lil Wayne etc. Make hits and then you will be the best MC ever!
But when has Lupe made hits? He’s had one based largely of a hook, he is not going to rap like fucking Piles and the rest of them, because he raps about things important to him, and he’s more intelligent then all the other retards. Fact is I’d love to get Lupe music but at the end of the day I would be disappointed if he completely sold out to get there which I interpreted the tweets as saying. Also it’s clear Prolyfic is a bitter fucker.

If “emo” music is what you want to call shit that actually means something, then I’m glad he ain’t changing.
Say what you will about Pro’ and say he is being bitter and blah blah. You’re allowed to think he’s wrong, thats fine. But please explain how a nigga from the westside of Chicago went from rolling hard with FNF and putting out literally some of the best hip hop of the last ten years, to getting punked by someone in a suit at a corporate office. If Prolyfic is wrong, then explain that away, but until then I’m gonna have to agree with whats being said.
Prolyfic is 100% right. Lupe needs to grow up and realize that music leaks and that you need to put out music. He doesn’t need to be young money but follow their ideas of put out music. He can make his style of music but also try and make more not depressing songs that can be hits. If he could make one or two hits on a cd he will be in a better spot and he would have more confidence. Don’t forget a friend of his took all the prison time for crimes that Lupe did and should be sitting in prison for right now. Don’t you think Chilly is disapointed that Lupe is wasting his talent because he only took the fall for Lupe because he knew Lupe had a chance to be a star and he is blowing it. If your going to blow a chance like the one you had then you might as well go to prison for all the drugs you sold lupe. Sit right there with Chilly getting ass raped for the next 40 years or you can stop bitching about 1 song leaking and be glad that your not behind bars

It’s a fucking record label you retards. A major record label. He obviously pissed them off by not making Lasers commercial like they want.
So what if he doesn’t want to make a radio friendly song? Since when is that a bad thing? Since when is it a bad thing not giving in to what you believe in? Maybe he is content with doing it his way? I got no problem with that.

sorry guys but Pro has a point. The only thing I’d disagree on is not making the music he wants to make. Lupe can do Lupe. But the way he regards his fans (other than in ONE semtex interview) and his lack of music is a problem. Atlantic didn’t have a problem with either of his other two records, neither was some overly commercial work, so you can’t say Atlantic “doesn’t want to push it”. There is more than you know at work, clearly, and for Lupe to act like it’s completely out of his hands is silly.
And as for Rhymestyle – Eddie might have said it poorly, but there’s a difference between a record contract and not knowing how to work the system. Piss a label off (ON SOME PERSONAL SHIT) and you don’t get what you need in terms of support. I’m fairly certain it’s not because he “doesn’t make commercial songs”. He sold 300 some odd thousand on Food and Liquor with no mainstream hit. 600 some odd with a number 9 song. I really doubt that the commercial viability of his music is not the issue. The album has been done, and he’s obviously not making changes and Atlantic reps have already said its good…the issue with his lack of presence is not the music…its him and his attitude.
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER AGREED WITH PROLYFIC.
Usually he does come across as bitter, but I know all the people that put their all into his creation (some have come and gone) and he’s squandering it, as well as some of the most loyal fans I’ve ever seen.
