Quick Thoughts (2009 MTV VMA’s)
I refused to watch. I don’t do these anymore, because it’s pretty much STUPID to me, BUT this is the one year I wish I did, just because of the sheer epicness of TWO moments that I feel would’ve been amazing to see live.
1) Taylor-Made Kanye
So, according to sources (that included my cousin, four of my friends, and all 82 people I follow on Twitter from Mickey Factz to RhymeStyle to CaliLive) which were later confirmed by the Youtube video that went up almost 23 seconds later (ha! Take that Viacom!) Taylor Swift won an award, she was in the middle of the “OH MY GOODNESS THANK YOU!” speech and suddenly Mr. West jumps on stage and says “Love your music, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time! Of all time!” and hands the mic back as if he didn’t just ETHER HER SOUL.
WOW.
My official thoughts on the subject: there is a time and place for everything. That was not the time or the place, but obviously Kanye doesn’t know this. From the Bush/black people comment, to the temper tantrums, its OBVIOUS he’s going to speak his mind whenever the thought crosses his mind.
What makes me a little upset is the people that say they’re done with him. Obviously he was dead wrong, but I refuse to think that if you bought his first 4 albums, one temper tantrum RIGHT NOW would suddenly make you throw those albums out the window and never buy his music again. I hate his actions but let’s not deny the fact he backs his actions up with dope music.
Unfortunate, but hip-hop needs characters sometimes. Kanye is definitely a character. More later, this is supposed to be quick, lol.
2) Lil’ Mama + Jay-Z/Alicia Keys = EPIC FAIL
There’s a reason why people don’t like this girl, for some reason. I don’t know theirs,but I know my personal reason, LOL. Anyway, homegirl decided to intrude on an epic hip-hop moment that featured Jay-Z and Alicia Keys by just hopping on stage as if she was invited…
….No. Way to ruin the moment.
I’m not through with this. I’m doing this mobile, so I plan to return later with something…
