Yup. Because for some reason I’m never satisfied… I’m in the process of redesigning my blog. I’ll remove this notice/disclaimer from the top here as SOON as I’m satisfied, but for now…

…I’m not….

So it shall remain here. Anyway, pardon the progress. New stuff is right below this…

Prototype Hype…

June 8, 2009 k1ngeljay Leave a comment

Ok. There are some things that I’ve been excited for a long time. This particular thing, I haven’t been excited for until about two months ago when I saw THIS trailer.

I just want to go on a limb and say that I’m completely excited for this video game. Open-world, sandbox style, and to make it even sweeter…. It’s an M-Rated, anti-hero… No Spider-Man…no moral convictions…

It’s just me wreaking havoc on a city in every way possible. Seriously?

I can do that. Heavily.

And I shall.

I’m just ready for a new game to conquer, and this one looks…amazing. I thought it would be ok and fun at the very least…

…And then I saw the intro video….

….Speechless…

Ok, look… Prototype. Hits stores Tuesday. I’ll be sure to exclaim and squeal about it on Twitter on its release date…

Star Trek (Movie Review)

USE THE FORCE KIRK!!!!! USE THE FORCE!!!!!

USE THE FORCE KIRK!!!!! USE THE FORCE!!!!!

To just be completely honest, the only reason I saw this movie was because 1) I heard Zoe Saldana was in it, and 2) the other half of the Harbingers told me that he’d shoot me if I didn’t. And although we’re both half of the Harbingers, he’s significantly bigger than me, so I figured I should go see it before I got “deaded.”

I only knew a couple of things about Star Trek. For the longest, I thought there should’ve been some name infringement lawsuit between them and Star Wars, but I digress. The only things I knew were (in no particular order): Spock, Klingon, Captain Kirk (The William Shatner version), and the phrase, “Live Long And Prosper.” That’s it.

So if I told you that you don’t have to know anything about this movie, and it’ll still rank as one of the best movies you can see this year so far…That means a lot.

The Good: I’m not 100 percent sure of the plot in the OLD movies and TV series and all of that, but I do know that this is a great way to start it for new and old people alike. The story is strong. The actors ALL do an extraordinary job in their roles, and there’s an almost perfect blend of drama, humor, and action. This movie will interest you from the VERY beginning to the end, and I honestly can’t recall any time in the movie where I wasn’t either laughing or intrigued. Seriously.

The Bad: Movie-wise, the only thing I can muster… Is that I’d have to watch it a 2nd time to try and nitpick a bad thing. At the VERY LEAST, regardless if Star Trek was the title or not, this was just a extremely well-done movie. If I was a Star Trek nerd, I would be proud to show this movie off.

The Rewarding Movie Experience:
The movie is just well-done. It’s detailed, but not boring. It’s full of action, but it’s not an action movie. It injects humor into places that some movies have only tried to and failed miserably. This is one of those movies where you could have a movie high by the time you walk out, because it was just a GREAT, SOLID movie. There’s just not ONE THING that can make me say this is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. It’s great, but to me, it’s not “awesome”.

Bottom Line: There are no complaints from me about this movie. At the same time, there’s no ONE scene in the movie that propels this into one of my favorites of all time. Not a slight against the movie by any means. Believe me…It’s just a great movie, period.

Final Rating: —–> 4.3/5 <—–

Randomness… Zoe Saldana was in the movie and she was pretty. Just saying… I’m hating on Spock because of that…. Spock and Kirk are two great characters, and are developed well through the story… Tyler Perry is in the movie as the judge over Kirk’s legal case, minus the Madea body suit…
